UGC Networking Resource Centre in Chemical Engineering
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has established a Networking Resource Centre in Department of Chemical Engineering (CE) of ICT for its outstanding contribution to the field of Chemical Engineering. The Department is one of the top ranking CE Departments in the Country by all standards and is rated among the top CE Departments in the world in terms of research productivity. All the CE faculty members who participate in UGC-NRC activities are well known in their fields of expertise and collaborate with several National and International institutes of repute.

The UGC-NRC-CE has been conducting regular research and training programs for development of faculty and research scholars of other institutes through periodic discussions and regular workshops on frontier areas of Chemical Engineering. The objective of these activities is capacity building in Departments of other Institutes for augmenting their research skills. The Centre has been actively facilitating researchers from other Institutes/Universities to carry out key experiments in collaboration with CE faculty of ICT. By far the best response has been from undergraduate students to participate in the Summer Research Programme. We accept 30 students from other Institutes for the programme. Each one is paid a fellowship for incidental expenses.

Currently, there are 5 Ph.D. level research collaborations in progress with different institutes, BVCE, Navi Mumbai , AISSC, Pune , S.S. Jondhale College of Engineering, Pravara college of Engg, college of Engineering, Pune and School of Science, NMIMS. Mumbai. In the past one year, we have conducted two workshops, Soft Condensed Matter: Structures, characterization and Applications and “Nanomaterials: Science and Technology’ These programs have been attended by a large number of researchers and faculty from other Institutes.
